Setting your default region for GitHub Codespaces

You can set your default region in the GitHub Codespaces profile settings page to personalize where your data is held.

You can manually select the region that your codespaces will be created in, allowing you to meet stringent security and compliance requirements. By default, your region is set automatically, based on your location.

Setting your default region

  1. Klicke auf einer beliebigen Seite in der oberen rechten Ecke auf dein Profilfoto und anschließend auf Einstellungen.

  2. Klicke im Abschnitt „Code, Planung und Automatisierung“ der Seitenleiste auf Codespaces.

  3. Under "Region", select the setting you want: Set automatically or Set manually.

  4. If you chose Set manually, select the dropdown menu and click your region.
