The Management Console handles all of the appliance-level settings for GitHub Enterprise.
Specifically, you can access the Management Console to:
- recover from emergencies
- view and restart system processes
- enable or disable maintenance mode
- set up SSH access
- configure DNS servers
- set your appliance's hostname
- set your appliance's time zone
- set your appliance's NTP servers
- configure authentication, such as LDAP
- add a block device for repository storage
- require SSL connections
- enable or disable private mode
- set up avatars
- enable or disable GitHub Pages
- configure email
- configure SNMP monitoring
- configure log forwarding
- configure collectd forwarding
- upgrade your license and software packages
- download a Support Bundle
You can use the Management Console API and command-line utilities to automate some of these operations.
