Allowing project visibility changes in your organization

Organization owners can allow members with admin permissions to adjust the visibility of projects and projects (classic) in their organization.

Organization owners can allow project and project (classic) visibility changes for an organization.

About visibility changes for projects

You can restrict who has the ability to change the visibility of projects and projects (classic) in your organization, such as restricting members from changing projects and projects (classic) from private to public.

You can limit the ability to change project and project (classic) visibility to just organization owners, or you can allow anyone granted admin permissions to change the visibility.

Allowing members to change project visibilities

  1. In the upper-right corner of GitHub, select your profile photo, then click Your organizations**.
  2. Next to the organization, click Settings.
  3. In the "Code, planning, and automation" section of the sidebar, click Projects.
  4. To allow members to adjust project visibility, select Allow members to change project visibilities for this organization.
  5. Click Save.
