Prerequisites
- Create a Patreon account. For more information, see Start my creator page on Patreon in the Patreon documentation.
- Set up a paid membership tier on Patreon. For more information, see How to set up paid tiers and benefits in the Patreon documentation.
- Publish your Patreon creator page and tiers.
- Link your Patreon account to your GitHub account. For more information, see "Linking your Patreon account to your GitHub account."
- Set up GitHub Sponsors for your personal account or for your organization. For more information, see "Setting up GitHub Sponsors for your personal account" or "Setting up GitHub Sponsors for your organization."
Linking your Patreon account to your GitHub account
- In the upper-right corner of any page on GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Settings.
- In the left sidebar, click Account.
- In the "Link Patreon account" section, click Connect with Patreon.
- Sign into your Patreon account.
- To allow GitHub to connect with Patreon, in the "GitHub would like to..." section, click Allow.
- Click Allow people to pay you through Patreon. Then click Update Patreon preferences.
Linking your Patreon account to your organization
- In the upper-right corner of GitHub, select your profile photo, then click Your organizations.
- Next to the organization, click Settings.
- In the "Link Patreon account" section, click Connect with Patreon.
- Sign into your Patreon account.
- To allow GitHub to connect with Patreon, in the "GitHub would like to..." section, click Allow.
- Click Allow people to pay you through Patreon. Then click Update Patreon preferences.
