Changing the duration of your billing cycle

You can pay for your account's subscription and other paid features and products on a monthly or yearly billing cycle.

When you change your billing cycle's duration, your GitHub subscription, along with any other paid features and products, will be moved to your new billing cycle on your next billing date.

Note: Certain products, such as GitHub Copilot Business and GitHub Copilot Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Packages, only offer monthly billing.

Changing the duration of your personal account's billing cycle

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings.

  2. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans, then click Plans and usage.

  3. Under "Billing summary," click Switch to yearly billing or Switch to monthly billing.

  4. Review your new payment details, then click Change your account's billing cycle.

Changing the duration of your organization's billing cycle

Organization owners and billing managers can access or change billing settings for an organization.

Changing the duration of a per-user subscription

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings.

  2. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Organizations.

  3. Next to the organization, click Settings.

  4. If you are an organization owner, in the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans.

  5. Under "Billing summary," click Switch to yearly billing or Switch to monthly billing.

  6. Review your new payment details, then click Change your organization's billing cycle.

Changing the duration of a legacy per-repository plan

  1. In the upper-right corner of any page, click your profile photo, then click Settings.

  2. In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Organizations.

  3. Next to the organization, click Settings.

  4. If you are an organization owner, in the "Access" section of the sidebar, click Billing and plans.

  5. Under "Billing overview", next to your plan, click Change plan.

  6. At the top right corner, click Switch to monthly billing or Switch to yearly billing.

Changing the duration of your enterprise account's billing cycle

Enterprise owners and billing managers can manage billing for an enterprise account.

Note: You cannot change the duration of your billing cycle if your enterprise account is invoiced.

  1. In the top-right corner of GitHub.com, click your profile photo, then click Your enterprises.

  2. In the list of enterprises, click the enterprise you want to view.

  3. In the enterprise account sidebar, click Settings.

  4. Under Settings, click Billing.

  5. Under "Payment information", click Switch to yearly billing and save or Switch to monthly billing.

  6. Under "How often do you want to be billed?", select a billing cycle.

  7. Click Change your account's billing cycle.
