Viewing your GitHub Advanced Security usage

You can view usage of GitHub Advanced Security for your enterprise.

Enterprise owners can view usage for GitHub Advanced Security.

GitHub Advanced Security is available for enterprise accounts on GitHub Enterprise Cloud and GitHub Enterprise Server. GitHub Advanced Security is also included in all public repositories on GitHub.com. For more information, see "About GitHub's products."

About licenses for GitHub Advanced Security

Each license for GitHub Advanced Security specifies a maximum number of accounts, or seats, that can use these features. Periodically you should check that your use is within your license capacity. For more information, see "About billing for GitHub Advanced Security."

Viewing GitHub Advanced Security license usage for your enterprise account

You can check how many seats your license includes and how many of them are currently used.

  1. In the top-right corner of GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Your enterprises. "Your enterprises" in drop-down menu for profile photo on GitHub

  2. In the list of enterprises, click the enterprise you want to view. Name of an enterprise in list of your enterprises

  3. In the enterprise account sidebar, click Settings. Settings tab in the enterprise account sidebar

  4. In the left sidebar, click Enterprise licensing. "Enterprise licensing" tab in the enterprise account settings sidebar

    The "GitHub Advanced Security" section shows details of the current usage. GitHub Advanced Security in enterprise licensing settings If you run out of seats, the section will be red. You should either reduce your use of GitHub Advanced Security or purchase more seats. For more information, see "About billing for GitHub Advanced Security."   5. Optionally, to see a detailed breakdown of usage per organization, in the left sidebar, click Billing.   6. Optionally, click the name of an organization where you are an owner to display the security and analysis settings for the organization. Owned organization in GitHub Advanced Security section of enterprise billing settings

  7. On the "Security & analysis" settings page, scroll to the "GitHub Advanced Security repositories" section to see a detailed breakdown of usage by repository for this organization.
