Managing GitHub for mobile for your enterprise

You can decide whether authenticated users can connect to your GitHub Enterprise Server instance with GitHub for mobile.

Enterprise owners can manage GitHub for mobile for an enterprise on GitHub Enterprise Server.

Note: GitHub for mobile is currently in beta for GitHub Enterprise Server 3.0 and subject to change.

About GitHub for mobile

GitHub for mobile is available as an Android and iOS app. GitHub for mobile is generally available for users and in public beta for users of GitHub Enterprise Server 3.0+. For more information, see "GitHub for mobile."

Members of your enterprise can use GitHub for mobile to triage, collaborate, and manage work on your GitHub Enterprise Server instance from a mobile device. By default, GitHub for mobile is enabled for your GitHub Enterprise Server instance. You can allow or disallow enterprise members from using GitHub for mobile to authenticate to your GitHub Enterprise Server instance and access your enterprise's data.

Enabling or disabling GitHub for mobile

  1. From an administrative account on GitHub Enterprise Server, click in the upper-right corner of any page. Rocketship icon for accessing site admin settings
  2. In the left sidebar, click Management Console. Management Console tab in the left sidebar
  3. If prompted, type your Management Console password. Management Console unlock screen
  4. In the left sidebar, click Mobile. "Mobile" in the left sidebar for the GitHub Enterprise Server management console
  5. Under "GitHub for mobile", select or deselect Enable GitHub Mobile Apps. Checkbox for "Enable GitHub Mobile Apps" in the GitHub Enterprise Server management console
  6. Under the left sidebar, click Save settings. The Save settings button in the Management Console
  7. Wait for the configuration run to complete.
