Site administrators can promote any normal user account to a site administrator via either the user admin dashboard or a command-line utility.

From the user admin dashboard

  1. Search for a user account from the Command Bar (or go directly to its URL).

  2. In the upper-right corner of the user's profile page, click . Rocket ship icon

  3. On the left side of the page, click Admin. User admin tab

  4. In Danger Zone, under Site admin, click Promote. Promote button

  5. Type a reason for promoting the user account to a site administrator. Confirmation dialog box

  6. Click the promote button.

Using a command-line utility

  1. SSH into your appliance.

  2. Run ghe-user-promote with the username to promote.
