Disabling sign-ups

This version of GitHub Enterprise was discontinued on August 4th, 2015. No patch releases will be made, even for critical security issues. For better performance, improved security, and new features, upgrade to the latest version of GitHub Enterprise. For help with the upgrade, contact GitHub Enterprise support.

If you are using built-in authentication, you can prevent people from creating an account on your GitHub Enterprise appliance without an invitation from a site administrator.

Open the Management Console settings in a browser window.

From the left sidebar, select Privacy.
Unselect Enable sign-up.
At the bottom of the page, click Save settings.
Wait for the configuration run to complete.
