About managing your GitHub Copilot Business subscription

This article applies to setting up and managing a GitHub Copilot subscription for your organization or enterprise account. If you want to set up GitHub Copilot for your personal account, see "Managing your GitHub Copilot Individual subscription." If you want to benefit from GitHub Copilot features in GitHub.com, you can set up a subscription to GitHub Copilot Enterprise. You can set up a Copilot Business subscription for your organization or enterprise account. If you set up a subscription for your organization account, you can grant access to GitHub Copilot for individuals and teams within your organization. If you set up a subscription for your enterprise account, you can grant access to GitHub Copilot for organizations within your enterprise.

The GitHub Copilot Business subscription for organizations and enterprises is available on a monthly cycle. For more general information about billing for GitHub Copilot Business, see "About billing for GitHub Copilot."

Setting up a Copilot Business subscription for your enterprise

Before you can start using Copilot Business in your enterprise, you will need to set up a subscription.

Customers under a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement

If you're under a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, you need to connect your Azure subscription ID to your enterprise account to enable and pay for GitHub Copilot. For more information, see "Connecting an Azure subscription."

Customers under a direct GitHub contract

1. Go to the GitHub Copilot Business sign up page.

2. To purchase GitHub Copilot for your enterprise, select Enable GitHub Copilot at an enterprise level and click Continue.

3. Select the enterprise for which you want to purchase GitHub Copilot and click Continue.

4. Follow the steps to confirm your payment details, then click Save.

   If you don't have a payment method on file, you'll be prompted to add one.

Modifying your Copilot Business subscription

You can modify your Copilot Business subscription for your organization or for your enterprise account.

Modifying your Copilot Business settings for your enterprise

You can modify the policies for the use of GitHub Copilot suggestions that match public code in your enterprise, and the access to your GitHub Copilot subscription. For more information, see "Enforcing policies for GitHub Copilot in your enterprise."

Modifying your Copilot Business settings for your organization

You can configure GitHub Copilot in your organization, including granting and revoking access to individuals and teams, and determining whether to block suggestions that match public code. For more information, see "Copilot Business."

Canceling your Copilot Business subscription

You can either disable GitHub Copilot for all organizations in your enterprise or for a specific organization.

Canceling your Copilot Business subscription for your enterprise account

To cancel your GitHub Copilot subscription for your enterprise account, you need to disable GitHub Copilot for all organizations in your enterprise.

1. In the top-right corner of GitHub.com, click your profile photo, then click Your enterprises.

2. In the list of enterprises, click the enterprise you want to view.

3. In the enterprise account sidebar, click Policies.

4. Under " Policies", click Copilot.

5. In the "Copilot is active in your enterprise" section, select the dropdown menu, then click Disabled.

Canceling your Copilot Business subscription for your organization account

To cancel your Copilot Business subscription for your organization account, you need to remove all assigned GitHub Copilot seats.

1. In the upper-right corner of GitHub.com, select your profile photo, then click Your organizations.

   

2. Next to the organization, click Settings.

3. In the "Code planning, and automation" section of the sidebar, click Copilot, and then click Access.

4. Under "Copilot Enterprise is active in your organization" or "Copilot Business is active in your organization," to revoke GitHub Copilot access for all users in your organization, select Disabled.

5. In the "Remove Copilot access" dialog, click Confirm and remove seats.
