You can use labels to organize issues and pull requests in a repository into categories based on priority, category, or any other information you find useful.

Tip: You can also create a label in the Labels drop-down menu within an issue or pull request.

  1. On GitHub Enterprise, navigate to the main page of the repository.

  2. Under your repository name, click Issues or Pull requests. Issues and pull requests tab selection

  3. Above the list of issues or pull requests, click Labels. Labels tab on a repository's issues or pull requests page

  4. Click New label.

  5. In the text box, type your new label name. Field to type a label name

  6. Select a color for the label from the color bar. You can customize this color by editing the hexadecimal number above the color bar. Issues new label color picker

  7. To save the new label, click Create label.
