If a collaborator is no longer contributing to a project, you can contact to have their fork of your private repository deleted.
While you can't delete a private fork of a private repository in a user account, you can do one of these things:
- Contact to request the fork be deleted. Note that public forks of a repository that was public when it was forked cannot be deleted, even if the repository is now private.
- Delete the private repository, which deletes all forks.
Warnings:
- Deleting a public repository does not delete its forks. For more information, see "What happens to forks when a repository is deleted or changes visibility".
- Deleting a private fork does not delete its local clones. Users will still retain any local clones of your repository.
