# Following people

You can follow people on GitHub to receive notifications about their activity.

## About followers

When you follow people, you'll see their public activity on your personal dashboard. For more information, see [Quickstart for your personal dashboard](/en/enterprise-server@3.22/account-and-profile/get-started/personal-dashboard-quickstart#staying-up-to-date-with-activity-from-the-community).

You can unfollow someone if you do not wish to see their public activity on GitHub.

## Following a user

1. Navigate to the user's profile page.
2. Under the user's profile picture, click **Follow**.

## Unfollowing a user

1. Navigate to the user's profile page.
2. Under the user's profile picture, click **Unfollow**.

## Viewing followed users

1. Navigate to the user's profile page.
2. Under the user's profile picture, click **following**.

## Viewing followers

1. Navigate to the user's profile page.
2. Under the user's profile picture, click **followers**.
